National Tea Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) founded in 1988, is a state-level testing and inspection agency specializing in the tests of tea and tea products, formulation and revision of standards and tea, research of tea testing technology and alike authorized by the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and Certification and Accreditation Administration of China and approved by China National Accreditation Board for Laboratories.

Hangzhou Tea Research Institute under All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, established in 1978 as approved by the State Council by issuing NSC [1978] No. 356, is a state-level scientific research institute directly under All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives. Hangzhou Tea Research Institute is an integrated research institute combining tea scientific research, quality supervision and inspection, training and accreditation of tea vocational skills, technical information services and development and production management, a core organization of scientific and technological innovation service platform in tea industry in Zhejiang Province, the only focal technical organization in China under ISO International Tea Standardization Technical Committee, and the organization where the Secretariat of National Tea Standardization Technical Committee is located.
